An Interview With My Main Character (Trenton) #MondayBlogs #amwriting #SecretsUnveil

(Reposted.)

Going back through my character development, here’s an interview I had with my male main character named Trenton Devereaux.

1. Tell us a little about yourself.

Hi lovelies, I’m Trenton Devereaux from Cherry Gardens in Jamaica. I’m 21-year-old, goes to college in Columbia, S.C., have an infant son, and I’m a no-nonsense type of person; so don’t come at me with the b.s. Just kidding.. but don’t.

Anything else?

Anything like what? Guh, you are so nosy. Well… I’m being a suspect in a murder case. They said twenty-so people was killed up the interstate in a warehouse; but I know nothing about that. (He shrugged nonchalantly, twisting his mouth.) Next question.

2. Okay, what is it that you love most about life?

Hmm, I love how well my son is doing. He’s five months old now, and my family is very supportive. God bless them. I love how my girlfriend and I came, uh… I mean, how far within a year’s time. We had drama, cheating, drugs, and negative people coming between us, yet we fought and fought and we’re still together.

3. That is great you two are still together. Which brings me to my next question: How do you decide if you can trust someone?

Ah, well, to me a person have to earn trust, just like they would with respect. I give every person a starting chance, unless I initially picked up bad vibes from them, just like I’ve done last year… anyway, I go by their actions to sum up if I can trust them or not.

4. What three words best describe your personality?

Strong, ambitious, and a risk-taker.

5. What are your greatest talents?

(Smiling.) Well then, since you asked, dancing for one. I love moving to the beats in dancehall music, ska and ska jazz. If you aren’t sure what ska is, look it up; I’ll be here all day just talking about it, or you can come to a dance club I know to show you what it’s like.

Hmm… other talents: singing, writing poetry, I can cook my ass off, la-dee-da, and the last is for my woman to know. LOL!

6. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would that be?

Not a damn thing.

7. What is your typical day like?

I start my day off by tending to my son, then I would meditate since I need it more than ever now. Some light yoga or a run, breakfast; depending on the day, school or work.

I also use my time to render aid in the community. It doesn’t matter how much money you have; you still need to do something; whether it’s through donation, raising money, or doing volunteer work. I use my free time to help others.

8. What are your greatest fears?

I fear losing someone close to me in any way, whether it’s death, to the law, or whatever; it would tear me apart.

9. What or who is the greatest love of your life?

You should know who, but I will say it, Paris is the greatest love of my life along with my son. She has been there through thick and thin, loves my son as her own, and had shown me what real love is. I’ll give her the world if I could. I’ll do anything I can for her.

10. When and where were you the most happiest?

(Smiling endearing) The happiest time of my life thus far is the birth of my son. Wow, T.J. makes my heart swells up with joy and makes me work harder every day to do right by him. He’s so precious, mon; even though his mom schemed into being pregnant with him, it doesn’t change how I feel about him like most guys would to a girl who trapped them. I love that kid so much. (Sniffling)

This concludes my interview with Trenton. I had more questions to asked, but his schedule was tight. Will there be a second interview for a more in-depth look into his life?- I’ll have to check with his people. (Wink)

P.S. I do have an interview with Miss Paris Thompson herself. She’s the female main character and Trent’s girlfriend. You can find her interview here.

I hope you enjoyed Trent’s interview and if you have any questions of your own you would like for me to ask, please feel free to ask in the comments.

Thank you and enjoy your day!

My Heart Will Always Belong To You #love #fiction

My heart is ready and prepares for tonight, but my mind is still cloudy from wondering if she still feels the same way about me, about us.

As I put on my black pants with no underwear on, I began to take a long drag of the ganja from the metal tray sitting on the night table, and allow the smoke to fill my lungs.

The night awaits me like a new found freedom, and I anticipated on seeing her since it feels like forever we last saw each other. I miss touching her soft skin, inhaling her rich inviting fragrance, and…and.. I need to pull myself together because they need me downstairs. I won’t wallow in distress. I just want her to love me the way I love her.

Once downstairs, I noted that everyone is becoming acquainted with one another. Laughter is lively and glasses are staying filled. They were all dressed in their costumes for the “What’s Your Fantasy” theme.

The host and hostess of the night, my best friends who are using my house for this occasion, are busying themselves doing what they normally do; keeping everyone entertained and satisfied.

Typhan noticed me and broke free of his wife, Vivian’s hand and hurried my way.

Hey man! How’s it going?” He said with a megawatt smile.

“What’s up? I’m good. You saw Tracee?”

“Yeah. She’s with a red-haired woman.” When he said that, I immediately looked around and saw five women with red hair, but no Tracee. What the hell? I muttered. I turned hastily to Ty and he utters a “good luck” and winks before heading back to Vivian who waves my way and kisses her husband. I didn’t bother waving back; they carried on without a care in the world, unashamedly.

After receiving a glass of vodka from a server, I interacted with several women and men who participated in various activities. Soft jazz music flowed throughout the house, women in leotards sashay and giggle as they pass me, and I’m distancing myself from the crowd in desperate need to search for Tracee.

Not so long as I began my search, I spotted her swaying her hips seductively to the music of Boney James with her eyes closed. She looked so beautiful and amazing as she continues to dance to the beats of drums and the saxophone, opening and closing her robe to tease us. The way she moved had all who were there in a trance, including me.

After her sensual dance, I move over to her, watching her as her eyes watch my every move. She knows I would be here, granted this is my home, and which had used to be hers. I could still her screams still vibrating off the walls when I go to sleep at night.

“Ryan, how have you been?” She said to me. She tried to force a smile but failed.

“I’m sure you know. What about you?”

“Been busy with work and just thinking about things.”

“Things like what?” I had to ask.

Tracee cocks her head, glances down at me, her eyes linger a little too long at my waistband, and said, “You still wanna prove how much you want me to be with you?”

I swallow; hearing those words almost made me regret once saying them. I nodded slowly and walked away. Okay, let’s do this your way. I gave her a flattering smile, trying to act like a lion, but inside I’m a scared kitten.

On a black chaise, I lay wearing only my pants and shoes waiting for her. My heart beat faster when the doorknob turns, and she enters like a goddess that she is in a black and red satin negligee with stilettos.

No words are needed at this point. Tracee arched an eyebrow and stood there with her left hand on her hip. She’s taking no prisoners. She demands an answer. People from her past had hurt her and/or gave false promises. I was no better. She feels I treated her unfairly and didn’t love her. I love her more than anything. I just want her to understand that I’m not used to expressing myself the way she wants.

“Ryan, I’m here and you haven’t said a word. You don’t tell me anything about how you feel about us. It’s like you don’t care.” I can hear the shakiness in her voice. It breaks my heart. Coming here, and telling me how it affected her had let me know all hope wasn’t lost.

“Darling, I love you. I would get on my knees. I would do anything for you. You have to understand how much you mean to me. There’s no one else who can make me feel the way you make me feel. My heart will always belongs to you.  I will spend the rest of my life proving to you how much I love, cherish, and will support you.” Unexpected teardrops fell and it shocked me because I’m not one to cry.

She reaches up and wipes the tears from my face and we embraced. “I love you too,” she moans against my lips. The intense, fiery  energy consumed us. Nothing else matters.

We peel off our clothes and staggered over to the chaise where we made love to each other mind, heart, soul, and body.

PressThis: Amazon KDP Select: Is It Worthwhile for Authors? by CJ Lyons #NaNoWriMo2018

As we write our novels, short stories, poems whether we’re participating in NaNoWriMo or not, we all have it in our minds what we planning on doing next with them. You can be thinking about going the traditional route – finding an agent or a publisher. But what about if you are interested in self-publishing your work.

This article is very informative and useful. It shines the light on what KDP Select is and whether you may or may think it’s the best choice for you. It covered topics on:

  • 90 days exclusivity
  • Income from lending
  • Five free days
  • Income vs. Exposure

For those of you who are thinking about doing this- publishing it yourself, have you thought about where or what programs to go with? It could be KDP Select (going exclusive with Amazon.) Or, CreateSpace and IngramSpark.

For those of you who already self-published, which route(s) have you taken? Let us know in the comments. Thanks in advance.

Here I Come, NaNoWriMo! #amwriting #NaNoWriMo2018

Late post.
Good morning/afternoon everyone! So, I have decided to participate in NaNoWriMo this year. Last year, I had started it, got 3,000 words in (I believe), and quit.

So much was going on and I was furious at myself for not pushing and trying harder to finish. Or at least get close to 50,000 words which is the limit. I will spared you the agonizing details.

This is my third year with the first year I have completed my first novel, Secrets Unveil. Actually, it was just a total revision.

Now, I haven’t published it yet, but for this year for the second time, I am finishing the sequel, Secrets To Live By.

Also, since I will be working on my novel and a short story for something entirely different, I won’t forget about you guys. There will be posts that will be reposted, and for most of you who may have already seen them, new ones will be thrown in.

For anyone participating this year, much luck to you. Don’t give up on anything you do. It’s okay to take time out for yourself, but don’t EVER give up.

Take care,

Pamela 😘

Don’t Be Frighten, My Dear, It’s Only A Friendly Ghost #happyhalloween #amwriting #fiction

Warning: Scary image below may not be appropriate for some readers.

Althea had awakened from her late afternoon nap to an ominous sound happening downstairs to her nemesis that she could care less about. The piercing, frightening screams vibrated off the cold, white walls and then sounds of the woman’s body movements echoing down the wooden stairs was heard as she crashed to the floor.

Althea sighs and turned over to gaze out through the bay window to the rose garden that was in serious need of watering. The annual women’s convention of sisterhood is going well, too well.

She reflected back to when her nemesis, Veronica once played a mean trick on a fellow coworker, an innocent, quiet woman, and prank her using life-like toy snakes into scaring her. The woman was deathly afraid of snakes and Veronica knew that. The woman recovered, but today is personal. Althea got up to see about Veronica.

“Ayee! Someone helped me! I saw a-” Veronica screamed out. On the floor, sliding backward in her black floral lace jumpsuit, she sweated profusely and breathing laboriously. The evil demonic-looking apparition left her petrified as she tried to figure out the how, what, when, and why. Her day was going well until now.

The last thing she remembered was demanding the housekeeper to get her something for her room, then she turned around and seen the spirit. She forgot what it was she had wanted, but it didn’t matter now. She could barely breathe to give the answer to a friend of hers question.

Althea snickered as she watched Veronica and her friend scrambling for the door. That’ll teach her to screw over people, Althea thought. She really trying to use her powers for good, to be a virtuous witch, but there are people who will push you to the limit.

“Well, looks like our work here is done, hunny,” a raspy voice whispered in her ear.

“Tamara, I owe you big. Thanks for your help.” Althea squeezed her best friend hand and smiled warmly.

“You know I got you. You think John will leave her ass?” Tamara asked, referring to Althea’s ex-boyfriend.

“He can have that mean, basket case. He’ll soon find out the real her. Today only pushed her further into the deep end. She messed with the wrong damn witch. And, oh yeah, thank Ms. Waterford for me for giving that bitch Veronica a fright.”

Happy Halloween everyone!” She shouted to the remaining women, throwing her head back cackling.
