Don’t Be Afraid To Make A Change To Be A Better You

I told myself over a year ago that in order for me to move forward in life, I must make a change. To come out of whatever shell I’m in and away from the naysayers who felt like I would be doing something wrong if I make a change that I haven’t tried before. Or to just do something with my life other than allowing those who don’t care about me no way or another to dictate to me believing that I should remain where I am.
Because, being in a situation that no longer serving you, especially when you’ve done all that you could do and you’re not where you want to be, literally and figuratively, shouldn’t have to remain the same. I never could get the saying, “the more things change, the more they stay the same.” I feel like if one way isn’t working, you should try something else. You have that right to do so.
That what life is all about- reinventing yourself, to be a better version of yourself.
We have one life and we have to live it on our own terms, not anyone else’s.

A song that had inspired me over the years but it took going through a lot to know that enough is enough, is a song by Kelly Clarkson called, Breakaway.

The lyrics can explain it better than I can.

Here’s part of the lyrics:

“I’ll spread my wings, and I’ll learn how to fly
I’ll do what it takes till I touch the sky
And I’ll make a wish
Take a chance
Make a change
And breakaway
Out of the darkness and into the sun
But I won’t forget all the ones that I love
I’ll take a risk
Take a chance
Make a change
And breakaway”
