Love Poems and Quotes- Part 1

couple in loveI have always been a sucker for poems of love and quotes. I find them romantic and endearing. We all love, but most doesn’t understand the meaning of what love is all about.

It is said that love is a deep, tender, ineffable feeling of affection and solicitude toward a person, such as that arising from kinship, recognition of attractive qualities, or a sense of underlying oneness.

And, also, a feeling of intense desire and attraction toward a person with whom one is disposed to make a pair; the emotion of sex and romance.

Here’s a short list of a few favorite poems and quotes that I want to share with you all:

A Special World

A special world for you and me

A special bond one cannot see

It wraps us up in its cocoon

And holds us fiercely in its womb.

Its fingers spread like fine spun gold

Gently nestling us to the fold

Like silken thread it holds us fast

Bonds like this are meant to last.

And though at times a thread may break

A new one forms in its wake

To bind us closer and keep us strong

In a special world, where we belong.

– Sheelagh Lennon –

If I could have just one wish,

I would wish to wake up everyday
to the sound of your breath on my neck,
the warmth of your lips on my cheek,
the touch of your fingers on my skin,
and the feel of your heart beating with mine…
Knowing that I could never find that feeling
with anyone other than you.

Winter Moonlight

The snow, so peaceful and serene,

caressed by the soft moonlight,

gave magical feelings to the night.

The soft blue glow,

the lovers’ words that then did flow,

their lips closer and closer

until, locked in the throes

of a passionate embrace,

he decided to express his feelings,

to keep her safe.

He whispered softly,

his words like music to her ears,

“I Love You,”

and her response the same,

heard like the gentle breeze,

“And I, love you, forever.”

That was the night they promised

to be together through everything,

each to care for the other when old and gray.

A lovers’ pact

the most likely to last.

– Krista J. Mikula –

What Is It That I Love?

If asked why I love her I would say

It’s the sway in her hips,

the thickness in her thighs.

It’s the lust in her lips,

the love in her eyes.

It’s the softness of her skin,

the silk in her hair.

It’s the twist in her walk;

it’s the sweetness in her talk.

It’s the way she loves me

that makes me love her each day.

That is what I would say.

– Justin Hutchins –

Never Have I Fallen

Your lips speak soft sweetness
Your touch a cool caress
I am lost in your magic
My heart beats within your chest

I think of you each morning
And dream of you each night
I think of your arms being around me
And cannot express my delight

Never have I fallen
But I am quickly on my way
You hold a heart in your hands
That has never before been given away

  1. Magnets Sonnet I

We sweat together like delicate chocolate.
The comfortable wrap of ancient money fails to
Freshen a purple Iris. “Would summer boil a
Luscious petal language?” “Only in Peru.”

We conglomerate with threads forgetting friends.
The furniture designer conspired with unknown
    Budding chiropractors. “Does singing
Interrupt suburban plight? “Only in Italy.”

Let my moment whisper through the raw heaves.
The guard allows no images of love beyond
    Revolving doors, demented. “Would Sitler
Score in time to save our fate?” “Only in Toronto.”

We conspire against the grind, inspiring unseen art.
The joker who still wears hats all year round
Inspires another line: no hate. “Does smelling
Take the place like food of touch?” “Only in Peru.”

We sweat together like delicate chocolate.
“Would summer boil a luscious petal language?”
